After earning my Ph.D. in Criminal Justice and Criminology from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, I was an Assistant Professor at the University of Houston-Downtown, before starting at Boise State University. My research broadly focuses on improving correctional practices and policies, particularly for populations disproportionately impacted by the criminal justice system.
I am passionate about conducting policy-oriented research that focuses on evidence-based practices to transform the criminal justice system for those most affected by it.
Today’s students are the future; therefore it is crucial to not only prepare them for their future careers as well as ignite a passion and love for what they want to do after graduating.
